My eBay Finds for January to March 2024

Our eBay Finds for January to March 2024 have been increasing each month; which I love! January was slow but it appears that sales are increasing each month. I’ve been trying to focus on listing items on eBay and may venture into Poshmark as well.

Our Whatnot sales have actually declined since last year. There are more sellers on the platform and folks tend to attend the shows of the influencers vs the little folks. We had decided to scale back on the platform since we have been losing money.

In January, we did hit our goal of 1,000 sales, which meant instant payout. This is a huge game changer. Below is our January 20th auction that we had.

I highly still recommend live auctions and Whatnot is no exception! So many amazing deals and you get to hear the seller talk and joke with you while you message them thru the live stream.

Let’s dive into the eBay Finds for this quarter!

eBay Finds for January 2024

In January, we sold 6 items, all pins.

Within 2 weeks of January, we sold 2 pins. The Town of Colma California and the Miami Dolphins Football Helmet Pin. The Miami Dolphins pin sold at our full price of $7.77.

About another week goes by and we sell 2 more pins. The Otter House Schauzer Dog pin and the MYHA Montgomery Youth Hockey Association pin. I’ll usually type into Google to find me some more keywords in order to fill out my title on eBay. It tends to help sell my items quicker, it seems.

To finish out the month of January, we sold 2 more pins. A 2004 Los Angeles Angels baseball glove bat and Grand Opening Lone Butte Casino 2002. The Grand Opening Lone Butte Casino sold for full price at $6.77.

eBay Finds for February 2024

In February, we sold double what we did in January – 12 items and it wasn’t all pins this time! I started grabbing items from the storage units that we have stored in our garage and placing them on ebay. We first tried to sell them on Whatnot but decided that we would get more $$ to sell on eBay than the other platform.

While digging in our garage, I came across this really cool R2 D2 lamp that we gave our nephew. We also sold 1 pin during this time frame – Snoopy Run for Fun Peanuts pin.

A few days passed and we sold 3 pins – 2 of them were Avon and went to the same buyer – 1974 Mouse with clock movable hands and a Comb Shaped pin. The other pin was a 1988 ESVA Northwest Trek (sold for $8.79) and that went to a buyer who works at Northwest trek. How cool is that?

To finish out the month of February, we sold 3 more items – Sudoku Puzzle Book with Eiffel tower on cover; vintage Fruit of the Loom Men Briefs and a 1990 Michel & Co Winnie the Pooh pin. The Fruit of the Loom briefs were found in the storage unit and they were brand new. This sold quickly and at my full price of $25.77. Who knew the people still loved these type of underwear?

eBay Finds for March 2024

In March, I sold 13 items with a few items at a higher price point; love that when that happens. Also, I sold an item that a buyer left me a negative that had nothing to do with the item. I’ll get into that when we get into that item.

Let’s start off with the 2 items that sold – Ecko Unlimited Short Sleeve Shirt size 2XL (sold for $7) and an Avon Mouse Rhinestone Tail blue eyes.

5 more days go by and we sold 2 more pins – 1996 Kentucky Derby Festival Mini Marathon and a Vintage Big Boy. The Vintage Big boy was so tiny but sold for $10.

Another week goes by and we sold 2 items – a set of 4 Zeiss Fog Defender Systems and a 2002 Sacramento Kings pin. The set of 4 Zeiss Fog systems came from a wholesale site; we actually did free shipping on this and it sold quickly at $17.22.

The next day, we sold another of the Miami Dolphins football helmet pin and the Cowgirl Angel Star pin.

2 days later, we sold 3 more items – a silver toned Motorcycle with side car pin, New Bicycle Marquis playing cards and a Lawrence of Arabia 50th Anniversary LE collector set. The New Bicycle Marquis playing cards sold at our asking price of $11.77; we also offered free shipping too. The Lawrence of Arabia (sold for $40) came from our house – it is so big and bulky that we had been trying to sell it on the Whatnot platform with no success. We listed this on eBay and it sold within a few days.

We finish out the month with 2 more sales and a story. I sold the Kitchenaid 6 qt bowl lift flex edge beater for $32.95, with free shipping. I actually bought this at the Goodwill for cheap, surprisingly. Our Goodwill tends to overprice items; someone was off their game that day!

I also sold this Sakura SE-2000 Electric Eraser for $23.77. I did have this higher but after further research, I lowered the price. I had this one potential buyer reach out to me but they were completely bullying me in the messages. I had listed this as New Other – only because box was damaged. The buyer called me names and provided me with low ball offers. I blocked them as I didn’t want the negativity.

Another buyer went ahead and messaged me with questions. I had no idea they were in cahoots with each other. So I had lowered my price and this person bought it. In April, he left me a negative feedback that had nothing to do with the item. Called me a clown and talked about his friend that I blocked. I tried to contact eBay support but unfortunately support was useless. This person simply bought my item with no intention of leaving me a positive feedback. My 100% positive feedback dropped to 98.4%.

I’m still going through eBay’s process on the feedback issue but most likely, I’ll have to reply to the negative and move on. I also went ahead and blocked this buyer as well.

April is already starting to shape up well; I’ve nearly doubled my sales with higher ticket prices and we are still half way through.
