Do you ever feel like your days just blur together and you haven’t really made the most out of them? It’s easy to get stuck in a routine, but life doesn’t have be mundane. Here are 7 amazing ways to enjoy every day of your life! From taking a moment to appreciate the simple things, to doing something adventurous and new, these tips will help you make the most of each day.

(1). Realize that you are only guaranteed today –

None of us is guaranteed tomorrow.  Therefore, you need to make the best of each new day.  When you start thinking this way, you will start to notice the small things in life that make it enjoyable (ex. the aromatic flowers in your backyard, the gurgling water fountain, laughter from a child, etc.).

(2). Don’t sweat the small stuff –

It is easy to let the little irritations in life get the best of you.  A good rule of thumb is to ask yourself if this will matter tomorrow, a week from now, or if you will even remember about this in a year?  If the answer is “no,” why then are you letting it ruin your today?

Examples of small stuff include getting annoyed by the other drivers on your way to work, father in law putting away dishes that aren’t clean, or being frustrated that you keep getting outbid on storage auctions.

(3). Get to know your co-workers on a more personal basis –

Let’s face it.  You spend at least eight hours per day, five days per week, with people you work.  You will not like everyone, but be sure to find those co-workers with whom you connect and with which you can form bonds.

Be sure that you are displaying positive energy, in order that you attract the right kinds of co-workers to you.  When you attract other positive-thinking people to you, your days will be brighter and more enjoyable.  Do you love to crack jokes?  Find those co-workers that enjoy them too!

(4). Take time for yourself –

No matter whom you are or what you do, you need to give yourself permission to do something you enjoy.  If you are a busy parent with children, this is still important.  After all, your children are watching and learning from you.  Even if you can find fifteen to twenty minutes per day to read a book, or have your drink of choice while sitting on your porch, it will recharge you and make you feel more positive.  A short exercise session can reduce stress and cause the release of the feel-good hormones called endorphins.

(5). Spend free time with people you like –

Quit wasting your time with people who make you feel less than you are, or are always so negative, that they leave you feeling drained afterwards.  Life is too short for that sort of nonsense!  Enjoy your time with those that you like.  Take them out for coffee or a walk.  Making memories are so important!

(6). Look at life through the eyes of a child –

Children are excited about the smallest of things – the first snowfall, the puddles they jump in, the dog who does a trick, and so on.  Adults can learn a lot from children.

Try this exercise.  When you are outside next time, pay attention to the sights, sounds, and smells.  Do you hear children laughing in the background?  Do you hear lawn mowers and smell the fresh cut grass?  Do the clouds look like any particular shapes?  Try doing this as you go through your whole day.  You will find that you are happier, and more in touch with the small things in life that make it enjoyable.

(7). Continue to challenge yourself –

You are never too old to learn something new.  Perhaps you have always wanted to learn how to build a website, or you want to learn how to surf or you want to learn how to walk a tightrope.  These are all things that you can still do, and when you challenge yourself to proceed, you will find that your enjoyment in life increases greatly.
